The hunt is on for the next high-ranking former private school person with a three-year- degree from Sydney University to run the ABC today after the incumbent Managing Director, Michelle Guthrie, had her ride on the tax-payer funded gravy train cut short.

Reportedly unhappy with how Guthrie captained the Kremlin, the board removed her just two and a half years into her five-year term.

ABC Boss Justin Milne spoke to The Advocate this morning regarding the shock decision and the quest to replace Guthrie with somebody who’ll do what the board tells them to.

“Sad,” he said.

“Sad but ultimately necessary. But we look to the future. We’re looking for somebody basically the same as us, but different. A candidate cut from the same cloth as the rest of the board. Somebody who knows the rules and laws or rugby union – but would never admit it. A season ticket holder of a mid-sized theatre company,”

“A candidate who did debating and mock trial in high school. A same-sex high school, preferably non-Catholic. However, the most important thing we’re looking for is an outward appearance of the ‘everyman’,”

When asked if the board would consider a state-educated numpty or somebody with a largely embarrassing degree from a glorified TAFE college, Milne laughed.

“Of course not.”

More to come.
