The rage that washes over Roger Pevey’s being whenever people bring up Australians celebrating Halloween has had his left ventricle blow out this afternoon when he discovered some people also choose to celebrate Thanksgiving, too.
Around 3 pm this afternoon, the 67-year-old’s family heard a soft pop come from the den where he enjoys watching television.
They came in to find Roger lying limp on the couch with an idle hand on his chest.
He was rushed to Royal Betoota Base Hospital after being first stabilised by paramedics at the scene. Doctors have him listed currently as being in a serious but stable condition.
Police spoke to the media a short time ago outside the hospital where they said the investigation will now focus on how Mr Pevey came to learn that young Australians sometimes like to have fun and have Thanksgiving with their friends.
“We think it might’ve been something on the news,” said the police spokesperson.
“So we need to warn people who hate Halloween and the fact children go trick or treating in this country that there are some people in the community who also enjoy having their mates over for Thanksgiving,”
“Even though they’re not American. I know, I know! Just try not to get so angry. Think of your heart!”
More to come.
