Perth-based senator Mathias Cormann has said today that he’s unable to answer captcha questions that allege he isn’t a robot with any real certainty.
Cormann made the remarks in Canberra this afternoon, where he spoke to media about the robodebt scheme disaster.
“If I am the architect of the robodebt scheme, does that make me a robot?” he asked.
“Does it make me a robot that I have zero sympathies for the people it affected? Because I don’t,”
“Maybe I am a robot? Who knows? Not me. Do you guys know that question your computer asks you sometimes on the internet? The one where you click the box to say you aren’t a robot? Yeah, those ones I cannot answer with any truth because I don’t know if I am a robot,”
“I’m sorry, I lost my train of thought. I had lunch with my close friend Troy Buswell today and he set a cracking pace. I must’ve had a whole bottle of white wine and a plate of oysters in under half an hour. I’m feeling a bit lightheaded.”
Mr Cormann’s Chief of Staff then helped him from the stage and out the door.
More to come.
