Australian fashion retailers have been urged to please, PLEASE stop trying to bring back the awful bubble skirt, which only ever looks good on toddlers or women with model like proportions.

Managing to sneak its way back into the market, the bubble skirt is one of item of clothing that not only doesn’t work now, but definitely didn’t work back then either – leading many of the nation’s women to enquire who the fuck is wearing these, and why on earth are they paying up to $150 for the privilege of doing so.

The Advocate takes to the streets to learn more.

“Look, I just want to be able to go shopping at Westfields and find something to wear that isn’t fucking ugly or cost me hundreds of dollars”, laments Lisa Rune, 32, “it’s just getting worse.”

“I’m fucking fed up. Glassons is for Gen Z, Kookai looks like dogshit on me because I’m not super thin, Dissh went on their expensive linen rebrand a few years ago, and now even more of my favourite brands are turning to this overpriced minimalist style fashion that only looks good on certain types of people.”

“It’s like they’re aiming for Gen Z, but forgetting that Gen Z have no money?”

“You can get the same look from Shein for $10.”

Another woman, Zara Hilman, 35 says the bubble skirt looks like ‘a toddler took a huge shit in a nappie.”

“It’s not chic or ‘ironically cool’, it’s just UGLY.”

“I’m sorry but I’m Julia Fox or Zendaya, I can’t wear this shit to work?”

More to come.
