The Deputy Prime Minister has written another morning of campaigning off, choosing to stay bound to his desk once again.
With the Federal Election one month away, the man who will be returned as the member for New England says he’s not too fussed about hitting the campaign trail today.
With the Opposition Leader, Anthony Albanese now struck down with the spicy cough, Barnaby Joyce says he now has a guilt-free pass to chill out and watch the Johnny Depp court case.
The pair notably clashed a few years ago, when Joyce threatened to have Depp’s dogs Pistol and Boo put down, claiming they had breached border security laws.
A famous adversary of the Nationals Leader, American actor Johnny Depp is currently suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation, claiming that she falsely portrayed him as abusive which lead to his acting career being ruined.
However, defense lawyers for Heard have put the heat on Depp, publishing some pretty damning evidence which has him looking like he is kind of regretting asking them to do just that.
That’s led to disheveled images of the actor being broadcast out of the courtroom, something which Barnaby says has been a real highlight of his mornings.
“It’s good shit,” said the hungover leader of the Nats, enjoying a brekky chook and some homemade choccy syrup.
“Given Albo is off for the week, I had a few too many blue demons last night, and it’s a lazy Friday morning, I’m just perching up here watching this smug American fuck get rinsed,” he said.
“It’s delightful,” he laughed, spilling some of the homemade syrup down the front of his shirt.
“This is the second last order of business for the week. I’ve gotta go on some ABC program this arvo after a few tins, but that will be a piece of piss.”
“So, for now, I’m kicking back and enjoying the show.”
