A lifelong Rabbitohs fan who just received a brand new 2012 Bunnies jersey in the post for some reason was seen ordering a KC Chiefs hat in the minutes after their historic SuperBowl win today.
Despite being a lifelong Souths fan, Sam ‘Sammy’ Harper has never own a Souths jersey.
He does now, he says, and he’s almost about to town a KC Chiefs baseball cap.
The French Quarter project director has defended claims from coworkers that he’s a bandwagon fan by telling our reporters that they’re just jealous.
“They keep asking why someone who lives in Betoota and has been to South Sydney twice would ever go for the Rabbitohs,” he said.
“Because that’s not true. I’ve got family connections to the Rabbits. My Dad went for the Souths. Plus they’ve got some sick players this year and I think they could go all the way. They’ve got that X factor,”
“As for the KC Chiefs hat, when I was in America last, I watched a game of NFL on the big screen at some pub in Aspen and sure enough it was like the Packers versus the Chiefs and we all went for the Chiefs that night,”
“They lost but we still rooted for them! How funny is it how Americans say ‘root’? Fuck, it gets me every time.”
