Just when Australians thought that the 2025 Federal Election was going to be noisy enough, it seems Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer has launched a new political party that will run candidates in the House of Representatives, the Senate and all Liberal and Teal seats.

Palmer has promised to adopt many of the policies of US President Donald Trump, and will not be running under his previous ‘United Australia Party’ or ‘Palmer United Party’ because he forget to re-register both names with the Australian Electoral Commission.

The billionaire mining magnate made the announcement today in Canberra, adding that the new party is named ‘The Trumpet of Patriots’ – and promises to adopt many of the policies of US President Donald Trump.

It is still unclear whether this party will split the vote for the Liberal Party who was hoping to capitalise on the messianic worshipping of Donald Trump that exists in certain corners of the Australian electorate, particularly amongst men who spend too much time looking at their phone screens.

Or will it split the vote for Labor, and attract disaffected True Believers who are desperately looking for something new and exciting.

Either way, the one thing that is clear is that Australia’s newspapers are excited to once again charge Clive Palmer out the arse for full front page advertisements.

Voters can also expect to get spammed with text messages from the Palmer campaign, as was the case in 2022, when up to ten million Australians received a unwanted SMS from the then Palmer United Party.

Australians can also look forward to the next couple months of minor scandals within this new party, as it once again becomes clear that Palmer has not done enough vetting of his political candidates – many of whom have lied to him about their past lives as con artists and petty criminals.

However, Australians agree that if we get another Jacqui Lambie out of this tired experiment, it will all be worth it.
