While the nation continues to reel from the news that iconic car brand Holden will be no more, the Government has wasted little time setting the record straight on who is to blame.
Despite the fact many have criticised successive federal governments for abandoning the once-great Australian automotive industry, the current Government in charge has hit out at the Greens party.
“The collapse of the great Holden brand is another feather in the cap for the left-wing propaganda machine that is the Australian Greens,” said the fired up National Party Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack while Barnaby Joyce smirked in the background.
“As we as a nation deal with the horrific blow to our national identity, the Greens sit in their inner-city terrace houses laughing at the everyday people who lose a part of who they are.”
“My dad never drove an electric car. There’s nothing nostalgic about an electric car and there never will be! Australian’s love a good old fashioned Holden!”
After a horrendous summer of bushfires caused by a single Greens Local Council in Australia who orchestrated a nationwide backburn prevention scheme, the latest accusation comes as a major blow.
“We didn’t abandon the automotive industry over the last couple of decades by letting the large employer of Australian’s by failing to give it the tax concessions, project grants and royalty holidays that we give the fossil fuels sector,” continued McCormack.
“Because we don’t want to prop up an industry whose economic case doesn’t stack up.”
“It’s just not feasible to pump money into making it a viable option as we do with building inland rail lines that will never be used again and upgrading ports that serve large multinational resources companies in their pursuit to export what they have pillaged out of our ground.”
“Those things I’ve just mentioned are infrastructure projects, not propping up an industry with no long term prospects!”
The Greens are yet to respond to the allegations and are reportedly in the middle of a chakra aligning session in Fitzroy.
