With all his useless children now braving the seas of our town’s brutal rental market, a local father has repurposed a spare bedroom into a ‘mancave’ complete with items such as an IKEA poang recliner, a stack of old Bulletin magazines from the mid-1990s and a print of a pack of dogs enjoying a game of pool.
Betoota Heights sexagenarian Dennis Pearson told The Advocate today down at the Grover Street Mitre 10 that the print, which his wife has made him keep in the garage for the past thirty years, has really tied the room together and he’s looking forward to adding other tidbits that take his fancy.
“I’m on the hunt for a pool table,” he said.
“A used one, obviously. Maybe a record player? I’ve still got all my old vinyls from back in the day. Can’t wait to drop the needle on some Richard Clapton,”
“Maybe a grille from an XC Cobra, too? God, the sky is the limit, isn’t it?”
Our reporter, noting the time of day, saw he was off the clock and no longer had to Mr Pearson talk about gibberish any longer.
More to come.
