The UFC 305 card, set to take place at Perth this August, keeps growing – with a new addition seemingly every day.
This expanded card follows the news that Sydney’s Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasa was locked in at the start of the week to fight world heavyweight number 12 Jairzinho Rozenstruik in a swang and bang type standing brawl.
UFC confirmed multiple fights will be joining the three previously confirmed bouts of Israel Adesanya v Dricus Du Plessis, Tom Nolan v Alex Reyes and Casey O’Neill v Tereza Bleda.
UFC boss Dana White says the last minute inclusion will feature a fighter that nobody outside of mid-North NSW has ever heard off.
White says after years of Aussie and Kiwi fighters rising through the ranks of his competition, he was certain that UFC scouts were across every potential champion in the country.
But it seems they missed one bloke.
39-year-old Taree-based car detailer, Clint (last name unknown) has never stepped inside an octagon before. In fact, he’s never fought in front of any referee or judges.
But still, everyone in Taree and the surrounding towns reckon he’d hold his own in the UFC. Dana White believes them.
“Apparently he’s never lost a fight” says Dana White, in reference to the small town coastie who is known locally for his ability to procure illegal fireworks every new years eve and beat the fuck out of any man on two legs.
Dana White is hopeful that Clint’s natural-born fighter instinct translates to the UFC.
“Obviously fighting on pub tiles and in asphalt car parks are bit different to a sporting arena, but the fact remains – the man has never been slept”
Clint, also known as ‘Clint The Dint’ after one notorious brawl in the Leagues Club car park brawl that left a transient motorcycle enthusiast with a misshaped noggin, was reportedly brought to Dana White’s attention by a Florida cruise ship passenger who used to coach rugby league in the Mid-North Coast of NSW
Dana White says he hopes to match Clint up with Chicago-based light heavyweight Jamahal Hill, if he can get cleared to travel to Australia.
Clint has responded warmly to the invitation to fight in the UFC, stating “righto”
MORE TO COME.
