In some news from the Apple Aisle this afternoon, David Walsh is getting ready to clean the bookies out again.
The famous Tasmanian who built the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) off the back of his gambling winnings said it’s time for him to get back on the horse so to speak.
The punter who developed successful systems to profit off the horses and random other sports said with the Premier announcing the closure of Tasmania’s borders until December, the time has come.
“We were hoping for a spring opening of Tassie to get our economy back off the floor, but that hasn’t happened, so I’m firing up the noggin and going to start taking things seriously again,” said the man who claimed to win 17 million on the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival in an effort to get on top of mounting construction bills for the Gallery.
“Might start off with a few Same Game Multis and the horses this weekend.”
“Then see how we go and flip it on the dish lickers on Saturday night maybe.”
“People always go on about the complicated system I used to make millions, but it’s just Eight out the gate on dishes, and follow the leader on a heavy track with the Ponies.”
Walsh then sighed when asked about the ATO, who he settled with because they chased him instead of the predatory bookmakers who pay next to no tax in the country.
“They love going after the good guys don’t they.”
