Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has paused all duties talking shit about about Malcolm Turnbull on Twitter and 2GB today, and boarded the first business class flight available to the United Kingdom.
This comes after news broke that the Queen’s husband, 97-year-old Prince Philip was involved in a light car accident days ago.
Local authorities have not disclosed who was at fault for the crash, which happened after the Duke drove onto a main road from a side road near the royal family’s Sandringham estate, 160 kilometres north of London.
The former Prime Minister and UK-born Abbott has had a well documented relationship with the Duke over the years, after effectively losing his place as the leader of the Liberal Party after bringing back knighthoods for a couple of months and choosing to bestow the honour upon Prince Philip, over much better options like the late Richie Benaud or the late Bart Cummings.
Prince Philip’s Land Rover flipped over during the crash, but he was unhurt — the other driver, a 28-year-old woman, suffered cuts to her knee, while a nine-month-old baby in the vehicle was not injured.
The Member for Warringah’s trip to the UK has once again confused his constituents, who aren’t really that invested in the British Royal Family, especially Prince Philip, who has publicly declared how much he dislikes Australia several times over the last decade and probably doesn’t know who Tony Abbott is.
However, as an undervalued conservative from Sydney’s deep North, it is believed Mr Abbott has persevered with his fetishisation of British aristocracy purely because he doesn’t really like rugby league or AFL and can’t think of anything else that brings about an emotional response from his increasingly hostile electorate.
