NRL hard man Dylan Napa has revealed today that he has devoted his free time over the next few weeks to reading bedtime stories to people who have trouble getting to sleep, something which is close to his heart.
The Sydney Roosters prop has been visiting the homes of people suffering from insomnia, using his natural ability to put them to sleep.
“I felt like it was a good opportunity to give back a bit” said Napa, after being suspended from playing in the NRL for 3 weeks for using unique talent unnecessarily on other players during matches.
“It probably wasn’t ideal for the other teams, but I think there’s some people who could really benefit. I’ve dug up a few books – Possum Magic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Hairy Maclary – I’ll have them sleeping like Andrew McCullouch in no time”.
Napa has revealed that he really loves helping people sleep, though needs to respect the fact that doing it on the field mid-match is not the best time to employ his services. “The NRL has asked me to try and stop doing it. Wayne (Bennett) said he appreciates the sentiment, though he kind of needs his players awake during match time, which is fair enough. I’ll cop that”.
Reports allege that Manly coach Trent Barrett is looking forward to using Dylans services in the coming days.
