In a similar vein to press conferences all weekend, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has today smiled, nodded and said something patronising when asked about Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s latest announcements.
This follows the Prime Minister and the Victorian and NSW Premiers going toe to toe on a number of issues, including whether schools should be closed.
The Prime Minister said last night after a national cabinet meeting that schools would stay open in accordance with medical advice received by the Federal Government.
However, the Premiers of the two biggest states had already broken rank saying parents should keep children at home if they could, and continued to double down contradicting the advice of Scott Morrison again today.
In a move that fills the nation with confidence, the Premier has gone against the Prime Minister’s advice that schools should stay open, by further confirming that children should be kept away from school.
“Oh did Scott say that,” smirked Gladys when fielding a question from The Advocate about why it seems as though the leaders aren’t really talking during a time of national crisis.
“Hmmmm ineteresting, but that’s not the adivce we’re getting,” said Berejiklian confusing the nation about what advice they are getting.
“Despite the fact that Dan, Scott and I can’t issue some uniform guidelines, people at home need to make sure they follow the vague sets of rules that are constantly updated in a very unclear and imprecise fashion.”
