Holden dealers around the country were left high and dry by General Motors earlier this year when they decided to take the iconic carmaker off the ventilator.
Short after, Holden died peacefully.
But thousands of jobs around the country were effectively given a death sentence by GM’s decision, prompting calls for the big American to put together some sort of care package to guide Holden staff through this difficult time.
Brett Domino from Domino Holden in Betoota Heights received his long-awaited care package this morning and inside the envelope was just a set of instructions.
“Instructions on how to commit insurance fraud,” said Brett.
“Which is a bit of a slap in the face. I mean, one car going missing before being found burned out in the State Forest is one thing – but 200 cars? How the hell am I going to explain that one to the police?”
“Let alone the good people at Diamantina Insurance. There’s about seven million dollars worth of stock out there on the yard. I’d send those poor bastards broke if all these got stolen and burned out,”
“What kind of jackaroo horse shit is this? This isn’t a care package, it’s instructions on how to get 40 years in prison.”
The Advocate reached out to GM for comment but as it’s still night time in Detroit, we haven’t yet received a response.
More to come.
