What was supposed to be a fun outing has turned into a test of patience and friendship for two women today, as the increasingly popular café, “Kitsune Kafe,” proved too much to handle.
Betoota Heights local, Samantha Lewis, 32, was visibly irritated as she stood in line with her friend, Jenny Potowski, outside the trendy café that has taken social media by storm.
Known for its activated charcoal pistachio pastries and fluro green matcha lattes, Kitsune Kafe is yet another one of those ‘Instagram cafes’, that spend more time on making food look aesthetically pleasing than making it edible – which has naturally resulted in there being a one hour wait line to get a table every morning.
This marketing has proved successful with Jenny, who found it on Tik Tok, but not as much for Samantha, who made the mistake of rocking up to a cafe on an empty stomach.
“Amy, I love you but it’s been half an hour, I’m fucking starving”, Sam moaned, “there’s literally a cafe next door, my stomach is about to eat itself.”
Amy, however, was determined to experience what the buzz was about.
“Nooo, seriously, trust me it’s worth the wait! They have these cute jiggly cat desserts made out of milk pudding!”
Staring at the line of roughly twenty people before her, a frustrated Sam puts her foot down.
“It’s going to take another half an hour to get in and then probably another half an hour to get served.”
“I do not give a fuck about fried watermelon sandwiches or a green goddess smashed pea salad.”
“I want an eggs benny.”
More to come.
