Darby Humphries has been travelling Europe for the past six weeks, and don’t all his friends know about it.
An accountant by trade, Darby was able to broker a luxurious six week winter holiday this year, given his father is the head of the firm that he currently works for.
After spending the first week smashing £10 pints in London, Darby’s Instagram feed suggests he’s been able to make his way through Barcelona, Dublin and Venice, before finding a nice patch of sand in Calabria to sun himself throughout July.
However now that he’s ventured north to the crisp air of Helsinki, Darby is keen to let his followers know he’s moved away from Contiki cities and has ventured to somewhere only the wealthiest Aussies can afford.
“In Helsinki tonight, does anyone know where I can watch the origin?” he asked his Instagram followers.
“Would love some recommendations!”
Not content with simply sharing the news to his 400 followers who haven’t muted his dim content yet, Darby decided he’d take his display of humble bragging to some NRL fan forums on Facebook, just to see if he could wow a few Dad’s that are avoiding spending time with their kids.
Posting to the infamous “NRL Best Multis + Punting Tips” page, which is made up of 50,000 Rugby League degenerates who shitpost NRL memes whilst sitting on the toilet, Darby canvassed the hive mind to see if anyone has done a stint as a expat in Finland.
“First time poster. Long time punter here. I’ve got my cousin’s wedding in Helsinki this week and wondering if anyone knows a good pub to watch the Origin tonight. Hopefully one with a decent happy hour. Haha. Any tips appreciated.. UpTheBlues!”
At last check, The Advocate can report Darby’s post has garnered 4 likes in two hours, and one comment from a guy suggesting he best find an Irish pub.
