The author of the much-loved Harry Potter books has taken to social media today to explain that the most popular FM radio station in Hogsmeade, the biggest all-wizarding village in Great Britain, blacklisted Michael Jackson’s music back in 1999 after the first wave of sexual misconduct allegations were levelled at the pop star.

In her book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban, JK Rowling shared on Twitter recently that Hogsmeade FM began a boycott of the King of Pop’s music because of the star’s controversial past.

“Hogsmeade FM was among the first radio stations to blacklist Michael Jackson’s music,” she wrote.

In addition, central character Ron Weasley was said to have labelled the singer ‘problematic’ and that the American should be ‘cancelled’.

The Advocate reached out to JK Rowling’s management and publisher for comment but have yet to receive a reply.

However, a number of local Harry Potter fans have responded to this latest addition to the sacred texts with some saying that the popular writer is ‘downright lying’ and ‘this revisionist history bullshit has really taken the gloss of what many Millennials consider to be the seminal literature work of a generation’.

One of those fans is Clyde Overell, a 29-year-old half-brother to The Advocate’s editor, Dr Clancy Overell OAM.

Despite having two blood relations as parents, Clyde claims to have read every single Harry Potter book and he told our reporters that at no point does JK Rowling mention Michael Jackson – or the depraved, disgusting acts he’s alledeged to have comittied.

“I think she’s just putting words into Ron’s mouth,” said Clyde.

“To be honest, I’m getting sick and tired of this thing happening,”

“First Dumbledore is homosexual, Snape is a Gemini (didn’t see that one coming) and above all, Harry is bicurious! I’m getting sick of all these things being added just to make the books more PC than they actually are!”

More to come.
