Betoota Grove corporate conveyancy lawyer, Harriet Marlo has today turned 33, which means she is now rewriting her own history by claiming that she always thought she was more of a ‘Miranda’.

Harriet is referring to the favourite Australian female past time of comparing oneself to a Sex and The City character.

In the late teens through to twenties are most likely to associate with the wildchild Samantha, or the shopaholic unlucky in love protagonist Carrie.

For the Christians, it’s always Charlotte the pearl-clutcher.

However, there is always one that no one wants to go near, initially.

Miranda, the no-nonsense working mother who settles for nice guys and owns her own Manhattan apartment, is the archetype no one wants to associate with in their zero-commitment years.

But today, as Harriet begins exploring the hurdles of a work/life balance and the possibility of motherhood – she’s decided of course she always liked the red-headed buzzkill.

“Yeah, no, like. I always said I like Miranda!” Harriet tells her girlfriends, who distinctively remember her Samantha years.

“I just…”

“I just didn’t like her fashion sense” she says, while simultaneously rocking an asymmetrical cropped hair cut and loose-fitting pin-striped collared shirt, like Miranda used to.

“I think they always portrayed her that way because they wanted her to be the least popular character, but yeah, for me, I always liked the way she didn’t confirm to toxic female stereotypes”

Harriet’s friends are not convinced by this blatant display of revisionist history.

“I was definitely ALWAYS Miranda!” insists Harriet, the liar.
