Not to take away from their very honourable sacrifices over the last few months, but several friends from Melbourne are once again carrying on in the park again.
That’s according to several Instagram stories that show fully grown adults lying down on the grass like school kids – as they intermittently take their face masks off for each sip of wine.
This follows the news that the Victorian capital has finally acheived what felt like the impossible back in August – as the rolling 14-day average of new cases across Victoria is now zero.
Experts now say there is no reason why state borders should not reopen, as the residents of Melbourne are gradually being afforded more and more freedoms.
For example, the freedom to go and meet up with their friends in the park for a picnic, which looks really boring and cold, but obviously is the pinnacle of a social outing after months sitting at home during the most severe lockdown in the world.
However, try as they may, the Victorians are unable to make a dreary afternoon in the park look like it isn’t just day-release with a cheeseboard.
