A local motorist sat on his horn for 60 seconds this afternoon as fellow motorists found themselves stuck in the middle of an intersection when the lights changed.
Rather than accept that he’s been mildly inconvenienced for a few seconds, Deverell Slacks, a Tarocash robot who does something on a computer every day in exchange for money to spend on things, had his day ruined after another car blocked his path as the lights turned green at the intersection of Green and Brown Roads in Betoota Heights.
The 27-year-old saw that the offending driver had nowhere else to go, he even raised his hand as if to apologise to Slacks – but that wasn’t enough.
For close to a minute, Deverell sat on the horn of his late model Ford Mondeo, hoping the excessive noise would somehow fix the situation.
The Advocate was on the scene to witness the audio assault on the sleepy neighbourhood crossroads but when our reporter approached Mr Slacks for comment, we were beaten to the punch by a large local man who punched him through the window.
From all accounts, Mr Slacks was rendered unconscious almost immediately as his foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelator.
The Mondeo mounted the curb on the opposite side of Green Road and careened into the area’s third-newest barbershop.
Luckily, only Mr Slacks was injured in the accident.
Police from the Betoota Heights Local Area Command attended the scene and are currently asking the public to come forward with any information regarding the incident.
Police are urging anybody with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or by sending information online via crimestoppers.com.au; which people can do so anonymously.
The public can call their local Police Station if they prefer.
In the case of an emergency dial triple zero 000.
