A local mum has this week begun voicing her curious observations after her first visit to a hospital in a while.
As a close relative recovers in Betoota’s Lord Tuqiri Private Hospital, Jan Sanders, from Betoota Heights, has included in every conversation she’s had this week, that she really likes the increase in gender diversity within the nursing sector.
In what appears to be more than just an excuse to keep chatting on the phone, the mother of 2 and grandmother of 1 seems to be really into this male nurse thing.
We tried to reach out to Mrs Sanders, though her line was busy, so we spoke to her daughter, Becky, instead. “It’s all she talks about. She keeps telling the hospital staff too. It’s so embarrassing. She gets all flustered and smiles at them all”.
Becky fears her Mum is negatively impacting the nurses ability to work efficiently, as she consistently tells any male staffer who isn’t a surgeon how wonderful it is and how proud they should be. Becky recalled one male staff member taking blood pressure when Mrs Sanders said “Naaaw. Go you”
Dad, on the other hand, is a bit suss. “I think he might be jealous” said Becky. “He reckons one nurse is definitely gay cos he somehow found out the guy has two cats”.
“Put a fork in me, Jerry”
