If there’s one thing that’s certain about getting older, it’s usually that you can expect to get incredibly pedantic about something that makes absolutely no sense to anyone.
For local nana Gil Hart, she’s chosen to channel her entire energy into keeping an ordered kitchen, which typically involves her finding some excuse to get up from the couch whenever a visitor strays within five metres of the fridge.
From clearing up plates the second a person has finished their meal to refusing to use a dishwasher, Gil has managed to run a tight ship, inspiring the fear of god into her grandchildren should they slip up – which, unfortunately, the youngest has done today.
It’s alleged Jake [8] made the gravest of sins in Nana’s book by failing to fill the Brita filter after he got a drink.
So ruthless is Gil about the filter that not only was it not good enough to fill it past the filter, but she also required it to be completely full at all times as she deemed any gap in the jug as prime real estate for germs to fester.
Jake is said to have only just exited the kitchen when he realised his blunder, but not quick enough to escape the wrath of his aggrieved nana.
“THE FILTER!”
“What have I said? You have to fill it PAST the filter, or we’ll get sick!”
