The nation has been left disappointed by the state of cricket in the country once again today.

This comes after cricketing legend Shane Warne called for a complete overhaul into the cricket system, rather than simply announcing that he would be coming out of retirement.

His public calls for the inquiry followed ex-English Captain Michael Vaughan’s comments that the return of two players wouldn’t fix the nation’s problems.

However, rather than simply stating that 3 returning players could fix the whole thing and sensationally announcing that he would be putting the creams back on, Warne instead asked that the way Australia’s cricketing system is geared up be completely overturned.

“Call me naive, but this whole debacle could potentially be sorted out if Shane Keith just committed to another season or two,” said a spokesperson for the nation down at Betoota’s Lord Kidman Hotel.

“Even if it’s just for the Ashes, and Sri Lanka at the very least.”

“Because lord help us if we fall at home to Sri Lanka in the next few weeks.”

The spokesperson explained that right now, the country would much rather Warne out in the middle rather than just picking random XI’s every couple of weeks and teeing off on Mitchell Starc.

“Honestly, with the batting woes we have he could even bat 3 or 4, and get that ton he always wanted so badly,” the spokesperson said.

“Please Shane, if you are reading this, it’s time to come out of retirement.”
