Prominent NRL players across the country are vowing to kneel during the National Anthem until News Corp reporters stop acting so unAustralian by filming them on the piss.
This follows the news that several journalists were seen acting disgracefully by floating around private venues across the country in an attempt to photograph young sportsmen enjoying a few mildly responsible beers.
In a non-violent protest against intrusive Murdoch reporters, NRL stars are mirroring similar demonstrations in the American Football codes that have been happening since August 2016, where some U.S. athletes have silently protested against “systematic oppression”, “equality and social injustice in the United States” by taking a knee during the playing of the U.S. national anthem
“This is by far the most disgusting attack on Australian values we’ve ever seen” says Willie Mason, a former nrl star and director of the NARTHAF [NRL Athlete’s Rights To Have A Few] Union.

However, unlike the NFL protests in America, that seem to have divided a fan base, it seems almost every single rugby league fan in Australia is 100% supportive of the players vowing to kneel during the Australian anthem.
“I’d probably be in prison if they had cameras at the mad Mondays I had during my bush footy years” says one fan, Doug Gees (55).
“At least these blokes weren’t playing drinking games with firearms or fucking around with motorbikes in the pub”
“I’d be interested to see what happens at a media company’s end of year celebrations. *Cough cough*” he joked.
“Or should, I say, sniff sniff! hahah”
