The amount of three or more visibly African teenagers standing in public, possibly making noise or being annoying, is “out of control” in parts of Victoria and tougher sentencing laws are needed, Federal Minister Greg Hunt says, but police insist they are on top of Melbourne’s youth crime problem.
Mr Hunt, who represents the seat of Flinders on Melbourne’s south-eastern fringe, has taken the opportunity to berate the Labor state government, and even convinced the Prime Minister to join in.
The Prime Minister, who’s own electorate is still unable to solve the deaths of over 80 gay men between Bondi and Maroubra at the hands of white teenagers, says more needs to be done to solve African gang crime.
