Police in Victoria have been commended by the Premier and praised by the public over their handling of numerous ‘Karen’ incidents in recent days.

A ‘Karen’ is, according to the Urban Dictionary, a middle-aged woman, typically blonde, makes solutions to others’ problems an inconvenience to her although she isn’t even remotely affected.

Over the weekend, video emerged of a ‘Karen’ berating police officers after they stopped her for not wearing a mask in a public Melbourne place, which is now state law.

Rather than simply wrap their telescopic batons around the Karen’s head and place handcuffs on the unconscious body, the police officers simply treated her as if she was a middle-aged white lady.

“It’s inspiring stuff,” said Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.

“Being a police officer is a stressful job and these trying times have made that job much tougher. Treating Karens with respect and dignity is something all police in Victoria should feel proud about,”

“All Victorians should expect to be treated like middle-aged white women by the police. Including members of our Aboriginal Australian community.”

More to come.
