After years of being mistaken for a Western Sydney gangster, one retired Far North Queensland property magnate has today decided to lean into to the subculture most commonly associated with Nautica resortwear.
Ken Cazaly (70) has today decided that he may as well be about that life, after years of dressing head to toe in the eshay uniform.
Ken says releasing a gutter rap album has been a challenging experience, given his only other experience playing music comes from jamming on the acoustic guitar during fishing charters.
However, Ken says it all came quite easily after a few months in the studio.
“I’ve always dressed the part, and I’ve spent my life in and out of boardrooms talking shit so the flow comes quite easily”
“Plus I’ve got so many mates in prison since the Fitzgerald Enquiry…. So I’m basically well up to date on the trap life”
Sally Cazaly, Ken’s wife of 50 years, says she’s excited to see who he’s going to feature on the album. She says it’s about time he decided to flex.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Triple One” said the retired homemaker and mother of 5.
“Maybe a bit of Skeamo”
Ken says he’s just working all that itshay out at the moment.
“I’ve been heavily inspired by the likes of Kerser and Nter” says the former construction baron.
“So I’d be stoked if any of them wanted to jump on for a verse”
Performing under the stage name Ol’ Codger, the 70-year-old yacht-owner is hoping to jump on stage with Chillinit and Wombat on the North Queensland leg of their upcoming tour.
“Should be a vibe” says Ol’ Codger.
