As the covers get pulled across the pool in the Tokyo Olympic centre, it can be confirmed that we’ve had a pretty good few days in the pool.
This comes after our Dolphins prepare to bring home more Gold than ever before, eclipsing the historic efforts of Sydney and Melbourne.
Starting with the huge win in the women’s 4×100 relay 7 days ago, and finishing with the 4×100 medley today it’s been Gold on Gold on Gold, particularly for our female swimmers.
With the likes of Ariarne Titmus, Emma Mckeon and Kaylee Mckeown bringing home multiple individual Gold medals as well as huge performances in the relay, the nation is shaking its head in disbelief this weekend.
Those wins took us to 9 Golds, 3 Silvers and 8 Bronze, with plenty of good chat poolside as well.
“That’s about as good as it gets,” acknowledged one local sporting fan this afternoon.
“It’s like we couldn’t lose in so many of these events”
“Cate storming home in the medley, Emma in the four by one, Arnie chasing in the two and four, goodness me”
“Incredible”
“And, only 3 years until we can do it all over again.”
