It’s something every Australian has had to deal with at some point in their life and today we are being rewarded for our bravery and skill.
In an announcement to the press earlier today, the president of the X Games revealed that running over wet tiles in thongs will be included as a sport at this year’s event.
“We are very excited about the new event, it will open up the games to a completely new calibre of athletes that we haven’t seen before,” said the president.
“And for once Australia might have a competitive advantage!”
Despite the announcement taking place just hours ago at the Betoota International Institute of Sport, the Advocate can reveal that Australia has already got a 50-person strong team assembled.
Head of Australian Extreme Sports explained to our reporter just how they were able to find and qualify so many athletes so quickly.
“Simple, we just turned the sprinkler on over the tiles out the front of the building and anyone who made it across in less than 15 seconds without slipping over got in.”
“To the uneducated person, running across wet tiles seems like a walk in the park”
“But for those who have stayed balanced as their feet were ripped from under them, those who soldiered through that desperate fear that electrocuted every nerve ending in their body, and to those who played it cool while others around them fell – this is it. This is the moment they have been training for.”
“And let me tell you, the athletes will not disappoint.”
