Scientists are currently rushing to examine an exciting world first in North Queensland, after an incredible find was stumbled upon.
Scientists from James Cook University in Townsville have revealed to The Advocate that they’ve discovered the first ever British backpacker to visit North Queensland and not get sunburnt to a crisp.
“We believe this discovery is the first of its kind,” said the excited scientist from JCU’s Anthropological faculty.
“It’s truly remarkable.”
“A historic day for British backpackers, for North Queensland, for science.”
It’s believed the discovery came after the lead researcher ran into the young Londoner at the Mad Cow.
“I heard the accent, and I initially thought it must have been a joke,” laughed the researcher.
“Because obviously he was pasty as, and didn’t seem to have a square millimetre of sunburn on his body.”
“But then I asked where he was from and he said London.”
“And more importantly I asked how he hadn’t turned himself into a lobster like every other Pom in this part of the world.”
“He gave me the whole run down of how he sunscreened up on and down at Airlie, and wore a long sleeve shirt and the like.”
The scientist went on to explain that while the subject had indeed been sunburnt before, he’d never actually been burnt in North Queensland.
“Apparently learnt his lesson during his farm stay.”
“He’s truly a remarkable specimen. Science is advancing quite rapidly up here”
“We ended up having quite a few schooners in the end and actually shared an Uber home,” laughed the researcher.
“But anyway, that’s by the by.”
