To cater to the growing number of Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists sticking themselves to stuff, Selleys has today announced the release of a new range of XR adhesive, specifically formulated to affix clothing and flesh to asphalt, steel and other major infrastructure.
This week, Clancy and Errol sat down with Beau Ryan to talk about the fabled NRL Off-Season (and plenty more), have a listen here:
“We’ve had to devise a totally new adhesive formula” explained Chief Chemical Engineer Aaron Grey.
“Because instead of using a small amount of glue to carefully stick a handle back on a mug, this type of consumer squeezes the entire tube over themselves and flings themselves onto a road, gate, or piece of civil construction machinery. Clamping in position for an hour really isn’t an option for this application”.
Although the tube looks much like other Selleys products, albeit much larger, the instructions are a clear indication of the intended use: “Pierce tube with sharp object. Smear outer surface of self with entire tube. Press self against machine of corrupt government hierarchy and hold for 5 seconds. Full strength is achieved after 10 minutes of non-violent resistance. Caution: Contents may cause irritation to members of the general public”.
When asked whether the special adhesive had been manufactured in an environmentally-conscious and sustainable manner, Aaron was adamant that it was: “Yeah, sure.”
