Sky News Australia released a statement to the media this morning announcing a new dedicated Newspeak channel for doubleplusgood Foxtel subscribers.
The channel, which goes to air later this year, is set to cater for the increasing number of everyday Australians who remained unconcerned about the decreasing press freedoms in this country and the government increasing their surveillance on the common taxpayer.
Speaking to The Advocate this morning via telephone, Sky News’ Director of News Artsem Joycamp said he’s looking forward to telling the news in a new way.
“This is the future,” he said.
“Sky and Foxtel are dedicated to bringing the latest from Canberra to our subscribers. It’s not just Sky bringing Newspeak into homes across the nation. The ABC, Nine, Seven and CBS will all start to broadcast in Newspeak,”
“But Sky will be the first.”
However, not every news media organisation is planning to make the transition to Newspeak.
An unperson from the Guardian explained to our reporter, anonymously, that Oldspeak is too important to the national discourse to be forgotten.
“These raids are more than just a raid on the ABC and the Tele,” they said.
“They’re a raid against our right to know about crimes committed within government and the military,”
“Soon, you’ll see the AFP being reclassified as a paramilitary organisation. Their weekend-warrior army disposal boots they wear now will be replaced by jackboots and their docile existance guarding embassies and consulates will come to an end. I must go now.”
