Australians have been told that they don’t have to pay tax this year if they don’t want to – after it was revealed that the deputy commissioner of the ATO is entangled in a major fraud investigation involving $165 million was allegedly stolen from the Commonwealth.
Michael Cranston, who has worked for the tax office for over three decades, will be charged with abusing his position as a public official relating to the alleged fraud, although it is his son Adam that is in a lot more fucking shit.
