Jack Black has today announced on his Instagram that Tenacious D will be officially rebranding to Softcock D, after he and his creative partner, Kyle Gass, chose to cut their world tour short, due to a comment Gass made about the assassination attempt on Trump.
During their live show in Sydney on Sunday, Gass was presented with a cake for his 64th birthday and asked to make a wish, to which he replied, ‘don’t miss Trump next time.’
Though this comment was reportedly received well by the Australian audience, it has since caused uproar around the world – especially with Trump fans, who seem fine with advocating for violence for people who disagree with their political views, but draw the line at their presidential candidate.
Knowing that both his career and potentially life may be on the line, Black has now confirmed that not only has he cancelled the world tour and changed the band’s name, but that he’s also re-negotiated with Beezleboss to make Kyle Gass his bitch again.
More to come.
