Mining magnate and rugby fanatic Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest has taken his love of the sport to new heights today after informing the world he’s recently purchase RM Williams.
The rugbywear chain has long been a mainstay in many middle Australian, as well as aspirational Australian closets around the country.
Especially Australians who like rugby union, which is currently going through a post-RM Williams renascence.
And nobody in this country likes the game they play in heaven more than Twiggy Forrest, who some years ago just made his own rugby competition after getting sick of watching Rugby Australia repeatedly drop the ball.
Forrest spoke briefly to The Advocate today where he outlined what his plan for RM Williams is.
“Oh,” he said.
“You know, boots and clothes. Pastoral holdings. Maybe some live events and stuff. Yeah,”
“Well, ah. That’s about all I’ve got for you know. Just remember for next time, when you phone me at 7am in Queensland, it’s not 7am in Perth. Ok? Righto, thanks for not asking me hard questions about the cashless Basics Card. Go Wallabies!”
More to come.
