Betoota born and raised Aldous Whitely has today thrown the US Democratic Party Nomination race on its head.
The previously unknown local Political Science student at the University of Queensland did so by busting out his new Bernie Sanders hat.
It’s believed that the one simple move has dealt a huge blow to the other contenders for the Democratic Nomination in Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden.
The 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries and caucuses will be a series of electoral contests organized by the party to elect the Democratic nominee for the US Presidential Election later in the year.
The ‘Feel The Bern’ hat which Whitely ordered online has reportedly had a huge effect upon the voting process, with the crucial seat of West End dubbed more of a kingmaking area than somewhere like Iowa.
“I didn’t really think that I’d be able to do so much in such a short amount of time,” explained the overawed full-time student.
“I mean the Instagram post I did with a funny meme throwing my weight behind the Bernie campaign didn’t seem to get much interaction, but my new hat has really made waves.”
“I seriously need this though man. After recent events where the public have voted for someone they want to lead, I’m beginning to lose faith in humanity,” he sighed.
