Local woman, Steph Albright was doing her usual morning commute on the train when the music she was listening to changed from EDM to Lana Del Rey.
This week we spoke to an iconic member of the Australian film and entertainment industry – Gary Sweet. Have a listen here:
With the soft, breathy hues of the songstress, Steph was instantly transported from train carriage to the main star of a nostalgia-driven music video.
Steph says the murky back alleys of Ipswich suddenly looked like the slums of 1970’s LA, and the old man sitting across from her ‘kind of appealing.’
“Will you still looooove me when I’m no longer yoooung and beautiful.”
Now starting to seriously question skipping work and reactivating the dormant profile she made on Seeking Arrangement.com three years ago on a whim, Steph starts frantically googling sugar daddy websites.
“I made it as a joke, just to see what kind of men were on there. But maybe those girls have the right idea?” Says Steph.
“Oh god, why do I suddenly feel so alone?”
Steph is suddenly distracted by a rail-thin man entering the carriage, who’s covered head to toe in tattoos. Though he’s not her usual type and Steph’s hardly a daredevil, she briefly entertains the idea of jumping on the back of an imaginary motorcycle with him.
“I think I want to do a road trip in America now. Maybe I should just pack everything up and go?”
“I could do it.”
Steph is just about to book a one-way ticket to LA when the song ends and is instantly snapped out of her reverie.
“Shit”, she says, eyes slowly coming back into focus, “that was close.”
