His Majesty King Charles was in South London yesterday receiving a high fade from his favourite Jamaican barber ahead of the King’s trip to Australia.
King Charles will arrive in Sydney in three days time, however, His Majesty will stop over in Türkiye to receive a set of veneers.
It is customary for Englishmen coming to Australia to come with a high fade and fake teeth. Many also come with either a fake tan or a tan acquired through acute exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
On the morning of the second day of the trip, The King will head to the spiritual home of the Englishman in Sydney.
“Bondi is first on the agenda, the King will spend time in Bondi, where many Englishmen find themselves living during their sunny rumspringa in Australia,” said Buckingham Palace in a short statement to The Advocate.
“The King will celebrate his time in Bondi by adhering to local customs. Which include a high fade haircut and porcelain teeth. It’s a custom that goes back to the first days of colony, where many British convicts had wooden teeth and shaved heads,”
“A trip to County Coogee, the 33rd Irish county, is also on the agenda where the King will take part in a cultural scattering of rubbish. Something that English and Irish people have enjoyed doing on a sunny day in Coogee for generations.”
Back in London, the King’s preferred barber, Wavell Jones, of KrownKutz Brixton, said it was exciting to see the King heading off to find himself.
“I said, ‘Wagwan Charlie Boy, you’re looking sharp, mandem,’ and the King just shook his head and laughed,” explained Jones.
“I gave him a quick tune up and off he goes. You know, I’d like to see Bondi one day.”
More to come.
