British rock band Oasis are believed to be reuniting in 2024, after the rowdy brothers from Manchester reportedly ended their prickly 15-year feud.

Noel and Liam Gallagher, whose debut album Definitely Maybe is 30 years old this week, have teased a string of comeback gigs next year.

The British tabloids can reveal they decided to launch a £400 million ($778M AUD) comeback during a series of phone calls. The type of money that not even the most petty quarrels cannot withstand.

However, this announcement is something that Oasis fans will need to see to believe – as any comeback tour relies on the two brothers being able to get through one show without punching the shit out of each other and going into hiatus again for another 15 years.

The hotheaded musicians had a long history of on-and-off estrangements throughout their storied career a rock duo, before finally pulling the pin on the band in 2009 and embarking on respective solo careers.

And while their subsequent post-Oasis albums have been praised, there is not one Britpop fan out there that would prefer a Noel or Liam solo gig over an Oasis reunion.

This is why the reports of a truce seem too good to be true – especially for the die-hard supporters who have been waiting well over a decade to see them play together live again.

London’s Wembley Stadium and Heaton Park in the Gallaghers’ home city of Manchester have been rumoured as potential venues for the comeback tour. The Oasis heartlands of Glasgow in Scotland and Cardiff in Wales could also host concerts.

Overseas fans wait with baited breath to see if this reunion is a success, with the hope that the tour could be expanded to European and American cities.

Meanwhile, Glastonbury have also told the band a headline spot at next summer’s event is theirs if they want it.

It is believed that the success of Taylor Swift’s multi-billion dollar Eras tour has encouraged other artists to follow suit. However, the clear difference between the American pop songstress and these two cranky Mancs is that Taylor Swift doesn’t have to sing alongside anyone – and also doesn’t appear to have the same hair-trigger temper as the Gallagher brothers.

Regardless, fans are either in for some good music or some equally exciting drama.
