The half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been assassinated at an airport in Kuala Lumpur, telling medical workers before he died that he forgot to put a coaster over his schooner before going to the bathroom, a Malaysian official has said.
Kim Jong-nam, 46, was targeted on Monday in the travel bar at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and had not gone through immigration yet for his flight to Toowoomba, said the senior government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Multiple South Korean media reports said Kim Jong-nam was poisoned, allegedly by two female North Korean assassins.
The Western Queensland custom of placing a beer coaster on top of an unmonitored schooner glass has been become popular within international fugitive circles as a fool-proof way of making sure nothing happens to your drink.
It is believed, Kim Jong-nam, who spent time in Western Queensland as a jackaroo in the early 1990s had forgotten to do so, and was therefore successfully assassinated.
“His schooey of Betoota Bitter was compromised” said one Malaysian policeman.
“It’s a shame. Because it’s one hell of a beer… I just don’t think it would taste as good with poison in it”
South Korean news outlets have confirmed that the son of the late Kim Jong-Ill was travelling on a fake passport to the Darling Downs to help a mate with a harvest.
MORE TO COME.
