Someone has taken a shot at former US President Donald Trump this morning as he enjoyed a round of golf in Florida.
Police and sheriffs in Palm Beach have apprehended a suspect after the forward party of Trump’s Secret Service detail spotted a gun barrel poking through the fence line.
Secret Service agents engaged the suspect, who fled, only to be caught a few miles up the road.
Authorities spoke to the media a short time ago in Palm Beach, where they explained that Donald Trump is okay and everything is now subject to an ongoing investigation.
“We will get to the bottom of this to make sure nothing is below par,” said a sheriff spokesperson.
“The last thing we need is to tee off on the possible motives or perpetrator. Making sure we do a thorough investigation is par for the course, really. We have to make sure everything is up to par. This has to be on par with our other investigation into how Mr Trump had his ear shot off.”
“Thank you, that’ll be all for now.”
Some in the local golfing community of South Florida have told the media that this is not the first time Trump has been given a few extra shots on the golf course.
According to one course pro, who asked to remain anonymous, Trump always finds himself being given more shots off the stick than what he writes down.
“It’s not the first time, not the last time something like this will happen,” he said.
“And that’s just the way it is in America these days.”
