The 511,000 elected officials across America have once again failed to confront America’s violent gun problem as well as a half-drunk Australian comedian did in a stand-up routine four years, and roughly 2000 massacres ago.
Jim Jefferies, who’s dad is a proud Western Queenslander, rose to fame in 2014 with his iconic ‘Australian vs American Gun Control’ skit – which has seen him go viral pretty much every massacre since.
The 40-year-old comedian, who comes across as the type of bloke who probably enjoys going roo-shooting, is a controversial figure in the American gun debate, with America’s gun-nuts labelling him an ‘arrogant Australian with his head in the sand’.
This comes after a lonely white loser shot at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday local time from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, killing at least 59 people in the largest mass shooting in modern US history.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said they found 23 firearms in the hotel room and a further 19 firearms and several thousand rounds of ammunition at his home in Mesquite, Nevada – which he bought quite easily because America has a toxic obsession with firearms.
Jefferies has done well to not pop his head up over the last 24 hours, even though at least 50% of the confused and terrified nation of America are begging to have this issues brought to light again.
President Trump has announced the immediate deployment of his thoughts and prayers to the people of Las Vegas. Gun sales and shares of gun companies are once again skyrocketing in the aftermath.
